Panorama City, located in the heart of the
San Fernando Valley, is a modern community with a
central marketplace amidst thriving neighborhoods.
In 1945, Panorama City was envisioned as a bustling
residential, employment and retail center. Planners
Fritz B. Burns and Henry J. Kaiser’s slogan for the
development was “build a city where a city belongs.”
In a few short years, pastureland was transformed
into thousands of homes for an expected 20,000–
30,000 residents.
Panorama City and the surrounding area is home to
approximately 137,000 people. Two and three bedroom
homes that were priced for young, working class
families in the 1950s are again attracting a similar
age and economic demographic. Residents are
ethnically diverse, truly reflecting the population
of a burgeoning city. Designed as the Valley’s first
planned community with a large commercial area among
residential neighborhoods, Panorama City continues
as a destination retail center. |
